The zygomatic major and minor muscles originate on the zygomatic bone and extend across the cheek to the mouth. Zygomatic major extends to the angle of the mouth, while the zygomatic minor extends to the upper lip. These muscles are part of the buccolabial group of muscles which are predominantly involved in facial expression.[1]
