Pharynx

The muscular tubular passage of the vertebrate digestive and respiratory tracts extending from the back of the nasal cavity and mouth to the esophagus. Commonly known as the throat, the pharynx connects the oral and nasal cavities to the esophagus and larynx. The pharynx is divided into three parts: the nasopharynx, oropharynx, and laryngopharynx.[1]
