The state of becoming aware of something via the brain’s processing of signals from the physical senses. The process by which we take the information received from our senses and organize and interpret it, which in turn allows us not only to see, taste, smell, hear, and feel events in our internal and external environments, but also to do so as meaningful and recognizable experiences with clear locations in space and time.[1]
