Divergent Resonator

In voice, a resonator shape that is smaller in the pharynx and more open nearer the lips. Open back vowels such as | a | are inherently divergent in shape. This resonance strategy is beneficial high in the range of treble singers and in musical theatre and some world music singing styles.[1]
